East On Amazon
A Stand Up Paddle Board journey across Brazil
In the name of charity, Craig Freeman and Daley Bear are attempting a world first Stand Up Paddle across the full width of Brazil, along the Amazon river. This epic journey will see them set off at the triple border of Peru, Colombia and Brazil from the western city of Tabatinga and heading east on the Amazon, all the way to the Atlantic Ocean and the city of Belem. Using only the power of a single paddle, afloat 14’ Standup Paddle Boards, the two will endeavour to travel the distance of over 3200kms, taking roughly 10 weeks to complete.
Working as Professional Ocean Lifeguards in Australia both Daley and Craig know the true importance of education. Teaching ocean safety to school children of all ages as part of their roles as Lifeguards, the pair see first hand the difference that having knowledge makes. In their experience it can be the difference between life and death. On a global community level, it means the difference between thriving and surviving.
